The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
2 Attachment(s)
I get these e-mails about twice a week, and occasionally there are some good deals for survival prepping. I'm going to be posting the coupons in this thread to share the deals with my GIM buddies.
For starters, here are a couple coupons that expire 10/1. The headlamp is one of the things that FerFal said he most wish he would have stocked up on. The machete may be a piece of junk, but for $20 you can get a whole stack of them. :D |
Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
I bought the machete a few months ago. It's pretty nice for the money, not a total piece of crapola. It is VERY sharp. The nylon sheath is worth $2.00 on its own.

Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
20 machete's in stock for a while. I too get those emails.
Granted it's Chink crap, but you can buy a dozen for the same money as one made in the us out of Chink steel. |
Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
Have you ever tried using these coupons on their website? It appears that they don't work, as I've been entering the numbers under the bar codes, and their site has no record of the coupons.

Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
HF is a crap shoot. I hate how the prices aren't fixed, and the stock is frequently actually available.

Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
I wasted some time one day and went through the local Harbor Freight store trying to find something NOT made in China.
After a long time looking at products, I found something made in the USA. The sets of allen wrenches that are metric are made in China. The sets of allen wrenches that are inches are made in Illinois. :applause_ |

I've had several HF tools fail, but they have a lifetime replacement guarantee on their hand tools. You can buy several of theirs for one at Home Depot, so just get a spare and you are covered. It is what it is, and it is better than nothing. |

Thanks SLV. I have purchased tools there to get a job done. 30 day guarantee on power tools I believe. Completed the work I needed to at a fraction of the price of going to Home Despot. You get what you pay for. But, it got the job done. |
Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
I've purchased a ton of stuff from them over the last 15 years some was crap but most was well worth the money and still running . I have grinders and compressors that are running after many years of use ,the mechanics tools aren't the prettiest but they get the job done and I don't feel bad if the guys (employs) loose or misplace them.....I highly recommend HF for inexpensive end wrenches ,socket sets ,impact wrenches, their blue colored grinders not the orange, and their compressors , hose & fittings.

Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
If you're buying tools from home depot or lowes I'd suggest finding a local industrial supply/hardware store and ponying up a few extra dollars for real tools. Don't be suprised if you go in there nothing has price tags though. Most of my tools are Klein, Proto, Knipex, and Eklind. I have quite a bit of harbor freight stuff at home so I don't have to lug my tools back and forth from work. Its a good way to build up a big set of tools for relatively few dollars. Never buy anything from there if its not on sale though. Half they store is on sale one week and then the other half the next and its usually 25 to 50% off.

Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
Found this little deal at Harbor Freight yesterday. (I don't have a coupon for it.) It is a 7-function stainless steel pocket knife for $0.99! I picked up ten of them for my various tool boxes as well as Christmas stocking stuffers.

Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
Picked up this stainless steel stock pot set for $25 yesterday. I think the sale price is still good. This is a GREAT price for stainless steel (but it isn't really thick). We'll use them for canning spaghetti sauce or milking the goats.
They nestle together with each pot sitting on top of its lid and the largest lid on the top. http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/pho...4899/94829.gif |
Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
I've had great luck with HF stuff. I always keep in mind that if I need heavy duty, high quality, HF is not the place to shop. Most times their stuff is adequate.
I've run one of their 2 drum tumblers for months and had no troubles. Had to replace the drive belts a few times, easywear item. |
Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
Last I checked China doesn't care about human rights. Especially Tibetan women.

Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
yea, lets start a yipee thread for the master
how many of you know what the statemant MADE IN CHINA realy means? :signs14: let the feast begin |
Re: The Official Harbor Freight Coupon Thread!
Even the US brands are made in China these days.
I have quite a bit of HF stuff around the house. I have had REALLY good luck with their pneumatic tools, nail guns, etc. I have a framing gun that I bought for 69 bucks on sale. It is a little heavier than the magnesium models at HD. But 1/3 the price, and we have used the heck out of it. Some of their electric tools are nice in that they are brush type and usually come with several extra sets of brushes. Regarding those that have problems with coupons: harborfreightusa.com is for IN STORE prices harborfreght.com is for internet ONLY. They do this to get around tax restrictions. If they used the same company, they would have to charge state sales tax on internet purchases if they also have a brick and mortar store in your state. |
